Well, 2009 is almost gone, it seems like just yesterday we were saying Happy New Year. In the past year we have seen great progress in the construction part of the church. We have installed a new furnace in the church, and in the spring, plans are to install new central air. We have had new people regularly attend the church, and they now call it their church home. There is nothing more that will lift the spirit of the pastor than to see a growth in the church. There has been lots of sickness in the church this past year, but God saw us through it all. The MORE we learn to TRUST HIM, the MORE we will see prayer answered. We had a GREAT loss this year for our church, Rev. E.N. Howe who was the founding pastor of Echoes of Calvary in January 1984. It was a loss to us, but such a gain to Bro. Howe for he worked hard and faithful for his reward. Bro. Howe fought a long illness before Sis. Howe passed away in 2005, but after she went home to be with the Lord, his health declined. We were very grateful to the Howe Family for allowing us to be a part of the going home service for Bro. Howe, and for the family and friends who gave donations to Echoes of Calvary Church in his memory.
Echoes of Calvary Church is looking forward to 2010 to see what God has in store for His works. With the fellowship of many other church families, we just do not know what God has in store for us. We are looking forward to many other events that are planned for the upcoming year. September 10, 2010 will be the 2nd annual Night of Honor at the Moberly Municipal Auditorium. Once again, The Lester Family will be the key group, with other music talent that is planned to be a part of such a great event. More information will be coming as the event gets closer. This past year was such a great blessing, we have planned it again. With over 600 people attending, it seemed that the city of Moberly people enjoyed to see the Lester family once again, it had been over 20 years since they were in Moberly. I would like to say a BIG thank you to all who helped , and those who performed, Miss Jennifer Wilson, like always, we love you. Ambassadors of Grace did a pre-concert for the event. They too were well loved, a great loving couple that loves to sing for the Lord. Many other local people took part in this program, it was everyone who made it such a great success for the Lord and our country!
Thank you for all you have done for Echoes of Calvary Church in 2009, and we look forward to serving you for the Lord in 2010.
God Bless,
Pastor Doug Coonce
